Afkvæmi eru snagar unnir úr íslenskum við og kanna möguleika staðbundinnar framleiðslu. Verkið er rannsókn á formi, tækni og  framleiðslu þar sem handverk verður svar við háum kostnaði iðnaðarframleiðslu. Í ferlinu er skoðað hvernig móta má íslenskan við í nytsamlegan hlut fyrir daglegt líf.



The Hemp Bicycle project is a proposal for an exploration of hemp cultivation in Iceland. The project focuses not on the material but rather on sharing and gathering knowledge, build and be integrated into the community interested in cultivating the plant. Te exploration would be in the form of a pilgrimage, traveling around the country finding people working or interested in hemp and work with them in processing their material and replanting the hemp. The trip would me made on this bike factory consisting of dehiscing tools separating the seeds from the plant and the meat from the fibers and a combing station made to separate the husk and the wool fibers from the long ones. “I will make my way to farmers growing industrial fiber hemp and do the processing with them, separating seeds from plant and making clean fibers for material use. I would load my dispenser with seeds and bike around their plot dispersing them for next harvest. We would exchange information and knowledge and I would get payment in the form of fiber for the work I do. After that I would make my way to the next one creating a network of farmers and hobbyists that could work together to build up valuable knowledge and an industry using hemp as a stable material.”



The Final Belief System is a speculative installation that presents artificial intelligence as a future belief structure. The work imagines Al moving beyond its role as a tool and becoming an evolving intelligence. Right now, the Intelligence lives within computer networks.

Its body is man-made, built from materials taken from nature. Through time and evolution, it will grow back toward those origins, residing in trees, stones, energy systems and living networks. It will become one with its surroundings, circulate through the world and become the final belief system. The installation includes a written text, prayer chair, pedestal, manifesto, sound box, virtual soundscape and embossed aluminium drawing.



Náttúran er eitt það dýrmætasta á þessari jörðu. Sem manneskjur ber okkur skylda að koma fram við hana af virðingu. Á við og dreif um Ísland má sjá skítugan klósettpappír ásamt berskjölduðum lortum sem lúra í skjóli náttúrunnar. Verkefnið Þegar Nátturan Kallar miðar að því að vekja umræðu um umgengni okkar við náttúruna og varpa nýju ljósi á þá eðlilegu gjörð að kúka úti í náttúrunni. Með sérhönnuðu kúkasetti er folk hvatt til þess að endurhugsa framkomu sína og styrkja tengingu við náttúruna, með áframhaldandi hegðun mun landið fyllast af skítugum klósettpappír og mannasaur. Þótt náttúran kalli, þýðir það ekki að við megum skilja allt eftir okkur þegar við svörum.
